What About the Roses?

When they blossom in early spring
What about the tulips the beautiful smells they bring
What about the trees when leaves are bright and green

what about the ocean the clear water that runs free
what about the river and the lakes how conformed they must be
what about the rain when ti falls to nourish the tree

what about the bumblebee who feeds off honey sweet
what about the butterfly with colors pure and neat
what about the little ant scampering around on all of her feet

what about the newborn baby cooing in his mother's arms
what about the loving father with great wit and charm

what about the mother who will sacrifice her life
what about the sister who in fall becomes a wife
what about the grandmother who leaves here cherished advice

what about the preacher whose sermon rings a bell
what about the teacher who teaches, oh so well
what about the child you saved whose future almost fell

what about the roses?  Give them now so we can smell.
